60 Firefighters and A Lot of Love

As you know, we suffered catastrophic loss at our warehouse with a fire that ripped through several warehouses in our area. It took 60 firefighters to contain the fire and everything at that warehouse is gone. Books turned to ash, props soaked from sprinklers and fire hoses, and computer systems melted to the ground. Nothing remains.
When there’s nothing left, it’s easy to think that there’s no good to be found in situations like this. But there is. The outpouring of love from the magic community has been nothing short of inspiring. From customers emailing to offer to come help with the clean up to revered magicians offering to help out in other ways, to other magic publishers who have offered to give us copies of their books to sell, and to the 60 brave people who risked their own safety to put the fire out quickly and safely. Today has been a day to remember.
On a practical basis, we were able to activate our emergency plan. Our partners at Murphy’s Magic have been amazing, lending us warehouse space, computers, and shipping supplies. We have kept a supply of envelopes and boxes offsite for this exact reason, and we have been able to repurchase some of our best selling products from Murphy's and other magic stores that we have sold to in the past.
With that in mind, orders went out as usual on Friday, just hours after the fire. One customer emailed to say, “Even after a warehouse fire, you dispatched my order quicker than normal” and that gave us the biggest smile of the day.
Thank you for your support. This is going to take us a long time to rebuild, but we promise you that it’ll happen without too much interruption from the service we have promised. If it shows as in stock on the site, it will be dispatched within 24 hours.
We prepared for this hoping it would never happen. We are stronger than this, and that is thanks to the community around us. Thank you. We’ll continue to keep you updated.
